Professional Background:
Steve Kooner is a well known successful lawyer who has owned his own law firm, Steve Kooner Law Corporation, for over 17 years. Steve prides himself with being a solution oriented problem solving lawyer in the litigation area. Steve has a Bachelor of Arts degree with a Major in Political Science from Simon Fraser University and a Juris Doctor law degree from the University of Calgary. Steve and his law firm have received legal service awards such as Three Best Rated Award and Consumer Choice Award in recent years. Steve has also given back to the legal profession by providing mentorship to countless number of aspiring lawyers in the community and by formally taking on many articled students through the Law Society of British Columbia Admissions Program.

In addition to being a practicing lawyer, Steve is known for his significant community involvement. Steve has helped countless community organizations with community connecting and spreading awareness. Steve regularly engages in public speaking at events held by community organizations. In 2023, Steve was awarded the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Award by the Government of Canada for his significant community contribution. Also in 2023, Steve was named an Ambassador to a BCHL Junior Hockey Club.
Personal Background:
Steve was born in Vancouver and grew up in the lower mainland of British Columbia. Steve was born into an iconic music family, as Steve’s father is a former superstar Punjabi recording artist, who recorded with EMI and who had many hit songs in the 1980s. As a child, Steve’s parents taught him the value of hard work and generous giving. In line with this thinking, Steve was enrolled in the martial art of Taekwondo as a young child and he achieved a black belt at the age of 11. Steve was also always seen with his dad as a child learning about the music industry within the community.
