About Scott McInnis

Scott McInnis is a dedicated educator and community leader who has proudly called Kimberley, British Columbia, home since 2010. Originally from a small farming community in Ontario, Scott has built a life in the East Kootenays with his wife, Diana, and their teenage son, Luke.

Career

For the past 15 years, Scott has worked as a teacher and principal, serving students from Pre-K to Grade 12 in both public and independent school systems. His career has made him a passionate advocate for education and child care, actively engaging in these issues at both the local and provincial levels. Scott's commitment to education extends beyond the classroom, as he has successfully coached basketball teams to multiple East Kootenay Zone Championships.

Community Involvement

Scott McInnis is deeply involved in his community. He and his family are avid outdoor enthusiasts, participating in activities like hunting, fly fishing, and managing their family Christmas tree hobby business. Scott’s dedication to community leadership is evident through his active participation in the Elks Lodge #90 in Kimberley, where he volunteers for various events throughout the year. His passion for parliamentary democracy was further ignited in 2022 when he was selected to participate in the Teacher Institute for Parliamentary Democracy in Victoria, marking the beginning of his journey into politics.
