Statement from MLA Gavin Dew on Premier Eby spending almost $118,000 on a party for B.C. bureaucrats

“The Premier says he’s changed, and British Columbians should give him a second chance – but his actions don’t match his words. As record numbers of working families turn to food banks, Eby is spending their hard-earned tax dollars on parties for public sector bureaucrats with $21 cocktails and $57 sandwiches.”

Victoria, BC – The following statement is issued by Kelowna-Mission MLA and Official Opposition Critic for Jobs, Economic Development, and Innovation Gavin Dew, on the news that Premier David Eby spent almost $118,000 on a party for B.C. bureaucrats:

"David Eby is using the tariff crisis to paper over 8 years of economic mismanagement. The Premier says he’s changed, and British Columbians should give him a second chance – but his actions don’t match his words."

"As record numbers of working families turn to food banks, Eby is spending their hard-earned tax dollars on parties for public sector bureaucrats with $21 cocktails and $57 sandwiches. Those are the same tone-deaf fiscal instincts growing the public sector workforce by 41% and racking up a record $11 billion deficit."
