Friday, March 15, 2024 — Kamloops, BC: The Conservative Party of British Columbia is thrilled to announce our Kamloops team! Barrière Mayor Ward Stamer has been nominated as the Conservative candidate for Kamloops-North Thompson and Dennis Giesbrecht has been nominated as the Conservative candidate in Kamloops Centre.

"Ward and Dennis represent the backbone of this region, which has lacked any principled leadership for too long. it's time for Kamloops-North Thompson and Kamloops Centre to have common sense conservative representation in the Legislature and I believe these two candidates will make for excellent MLA's," said Conservative Leader, John Rustad.

"As the Mayor of Barrière, I have had a front seat view of how badly our province is being mismanaged. Whether it's the job-killing carbon tax brought in by BC United or the lack of housing and affordability, it's clear Kamloops-North Thompson is in dire need of some new leadership," said Kamloops-North Thompson candidate Ward Stamer.

"Crime, drug use and homelessness are all out of control in Kamloops. This BC NDP government is making our community less safe, while our current representation is too feckless to offer any legitimate challenge to David Eby. I want to fight for our community and I'll do what it takes to make our streets safe again," said Kamloops Centre candidate Dennis Giesbrecht.
