John Rustad Slams Eby-Trudeau Alliance for Being Soft on Crime and Letting Pedophiles Back onto Our Streets

“The Eby-Trudeau alliance has proven time and again that they are soft on crime—allowing dangerous criminals, including pedophiles, back onto our streets to prey on our children. It’s unacceptable, and British Columbians deserve better.” — John Rustad, Leader of the Conservative Party of British Columbia

October 4th, Vancouver, BC: John Rustad, Leader of the Conservative Party of British Columbia, has issued a strong rebuke to the Eby-Trudeau alliance for their soft-on-crime revolving door justice policies, which have allowed dangerous criminals, including convicted pedophiles, back into communities. Rustad’s statement comes in response to a recent case where a BC man received a 27-month sentence for child pornography, highlighting the leniency of the justice system under David Eby’s leadership in British Columbia.

“This is just another example of how the Eby-Trudeau alliance has completely failed to protect British Columbians—especially our children,” said Rustad. “A 27-month sentence for sexually graphic images of children is a slap on the wrist. These predators are back on the streets in no time, posing a continued threat to our communities, and Eby and Trudeau’s policies are to blame.”

Soft on Crime, Dangerous for Communities

Rustad condemned the current justice system for its leniency on dangerous criminals, including pedophiles and child predators. He emphasized that public safety must be the top priority, and that the Eby-Trudeau alliance has shown itself incapable of protecting the most vulnerable members of society.

“British Columbians should not have to live in fear of criminals being released back into their neighborhoods with nothing more than a finger wag,” Rustad said. “We have pedophiles serving short sentences and then being released into our communities, all because Eby and Trudeau are ideologically committed to failed notions and wacko ideas.”

A Broken Justice System Under Eby and Trudeau

Rustad criticized the broken justice system that has developed under the leadership of David Eby and Justin Trudeau, where lenient sentencing and soft-on-crime policies have led to a revolving door of dangerous offenders.

“The justice system under Eby and Trudeau is broken. Instead of keeping dangerous criminals locked up where they belong, they’re being released with minimal consequences,” Rustad said. “This is what happens when a government cares more about ideology than about protecting the public.”

Restoring Law and Order

Rustad vowed that a Conservative Party government would prioritize public safety and put victims and families first—not criminals. He committed to tougher sentencing for dangerous offenders and to restoring law and order across British Columbia.

“We need to bring back common-sense justice in this province. No more leniency for criminals who prey on our children. Lock them up and throw away the key. A Conservative government will restore law and order and ensure that the rights of victims and families come first,” said Rustad.

Holding the Eby-Trudeau Alliance Accountable

Rustad concluded by calling on David Eby and Justin Trudeau to be held accountable for their failed policies on crime and for putting British Columbians at risk with their dangerous approach to public safety.

“British Columbians deserve better than a government that lets pedophiles and other dangerous criminals back out on the streets. It’s time for real leadership that will protect our communities, not coddle criminals,” Rustad said.
