John Rustad Expresses Shock At Video in Port Alberni, Vows to Shut Down David Eby’s Drug Dens and Crack Pipe Dispensaries, Zero Tolerance Policy on Open Drug Use
“This is the reality of David Eby’s BC—where children can’t even eat ice cream without being exposed to the horrors of open drug use,” said Rustad. “Eby’s drug dens, free drugs, and crack pipe dispensaries have turned our streets into dangerous zones where families no longer feel safe. It’s time to shut them down and clean up our communities.” - John Rustad, Leader of the Conservative Party of Canada
September 26th, Port Alberni, BC: John Rustad, Leader of the Conservative Party of British Columbia, expressed outrage today after a disturbing video surfaced showing a mother and her children enjoying ice cream at a Dairy Queen on 3rd Avenue in Port Alberni, while a person smoked a crack pipe right outside the window behind them. Rustad condemned Premier David Eby and the NDP’s permissive drug policies, which have led to a dramatic increase in open drug use and unsafe conditions in communities across the province.
It’s time to shut them down and clean up our communities.”
Rustad reaffirmed the Conservative Party of British Columbia’s firm commitment to shutting down these drug dens and eliminating the free drug and paraphernalia programs that have wreaked havoc on public safety and community well-being.
Key elements of John Rustad’s plan include:
- Shutting Down Drug Dens: The Conservative Party will immediately shut down all government-sanctioned drug dens and crack pipe dispensaries, which have become hotbeds for open drug use and crime.
- Cracking Down on Crime and Open Drug Use: Rustad committed to significantly increasing police presence in communities like Port Alberni, where crime and drug use have spiraled out of control under the NDP. The Conservative Party will implement a zero-tolerance policy for public drug use.
- Cleaning Up Our Streets: The Conservative Party will focus on restoring safety to public spaces, ensuring that families can enjoy their communities without fear of exposure to dangerous drug activity or criminal behavior.
“David Eby’s experiment with free drugs and drug dens has failed spectacularly,” Rustad added. “British Columbians are fed up with watching their communities deteriorate. We will take immediate action to shut down these facilities, crack down on crime, and restore safety and dignity to the streets of Port Alberni and communities across BC.”
Rustad closed by urging British Columbians to join the Conservative Party in standing up for the safety and future of their communities. “We will not allow the NDP’s reckless policies to destroy our province any further. It’s time to take back our streets and protect our families.”
