John Rustad Calls Out David Eby’s Dangerous Drug Policies: “Same Old Activist Eby, Still Failing British Columbians”

“David Eby is still the same old David Eby, doubling down on the same dangerous policies that have failed British Columbians time and time again. Instead of funding real solutions like addiction treatment and recovery, Eby’s plan continues to turn our communities into playgrounds for addicts while families are left to fend for themselves.” - John Rustad, Leader of the Conservative Party of British Columbia

September 19th, Vancouver, BC: John Rustad, Leader of the Conservative Party of British Columbia, came out swinging against Premier David Eby and the BC NDP after news broke of a new indoor supervised drug inhalation site opening in Vancouver. Rustad accused Eby of clinging to failed policies that prioritize enabling drug use over addressing public safety, recovery, and the protection of communities.

“David Eby is still the same old David Eby, doubling down on the same dangerous policies that have failed British Columbians time and time again,” Rustad declared. “Instead of funding real solutions like addiction treatment and recovery, Eby’s plan continues to turn our communities into playgrounds for addicts while families are left to fend for themselves.”

Rustad criticized Eby for abandoning hard-working families, pouring taxpayer dollars into a system that perpetuates addiction while ignoring the need for real change. “This is an out-of-touch government that believes the answer to a crisis is more drugs, more inhalation sites, and more enabling. Meanwhile, crime skyrockets, and communities are left unsafe.”

The BC Conservatives have pledged to dismantle Eby’s harmful policies and replace them with strategies that prioritize treatment, recovery, and public safety. Rustad vowed to scrap these dangerous drug inhalation sites and redirect resources into programs that support real recovery and get addicts off the streets.

“British Columbians are tired of being lied to and ignored. David Eby’s soft-on-crime, soft-on-drugs approach isn’t the answer—it’s the problem,” Rustad said. “It’s time to take back our streets and put people before failed ideology. On election day, vote for the BC Conservatives to bring common sense, real safety, and accountability back to British Columbia.”
