John Rustad Calls on Federal Government to Designate Samidoun as a Terrorist Organization
“It is outrageous that a group like Samidoun is allowed to operate on Canadian soil. They have openly glorified genocidal terror groups like Hamas and Hezbollah, burned Canadian flags, and called for the death of our nation and our allies. It’s time to take decisive action.” — John Rustad, Leader of the Conservative Party of British Columbia
October 8th, Vancouver, BC: John Rustad, Leader of the Conservative Party of British Columbia, is calling on the federal government to immediately designate Samidoun as a terrorist organization, seize all of their assets, and investigate their funding sources. This call comes in response to recent demonstrations where members of the organization and their supporters chanted “we are Hamas and we are Hezbollah” while burning Canadian flags and calling for “death to Canada, death to the United States, and death to Israel.”
“This is not just hate speech; this is incitement to violence and terrorism,” Rustad said. “It is unacceptable that these individuals are allowed to spread such venom and hatred in our country, glorifying terror groups and calling for the destruction of nations, including our own.”
Zero Tolerance for Terrorism and Hate
Rustad made clear that Canada cannot allow any organization that glorifies or supports terrorism to operate freely. “Samidoun has openly aligned itself with Hamas and Hezbollah, both of which are recognized as terrorist organizations. They pose a clear threat to the safety of Canadians and our allies, and we must take swift action,” he stated.
The Conservative Party of British Columbia is calling on the federal government to:
- Designate Samidoun as a terrorist organization under the Criminal Code of Canada.
- Seize all of Samidoun’s assets and prevent further funding from flowing to this dangerous group.
- Conduct a full investigation into the funding sources of Samidoun and its members.
- Arrest and/or deport all members of Samidoun who are not Canadian citizens and are engaging in these violent, hateful activities.
Protecting Canada from Extremism
“This is not just about one demonstration,” Rustad emphasized. “This is about protecting the values and security of our country. We cannot stand idly by while groups glorify violence, threaten the lives of innocent people, and burn our nation’s flag in a display of open hostility.”
John Rustad called on all political leaders to unite in condemning such hatred and violence, and to ensure that Canada remains a place of safety and security for all its citizens.
“David Eby and Justin Trudeau’s refusal to recognize Samidoun for what it is—a terrorist sympathizer organization that openly supports genocidal groups like Hamas and Hezbollah—is disgraceful. Their silence in the face of these vile demonstrations is nothing short of a betrayal of the values and safety of British Columbians. Samidoun’s calls for the destruction of Israel, Canada, and the United States are not just words—they are declarations of hate and violence. It’s time for leaders like David Eby to stop turning a blind eye to this evil and take a stand for what’s right.”
“Samidoun and its supporters have shown themselves to be enemies of peace and decency,” Rustad said. “It’s time for Canada to take a stand and make it clear: we will not tolerate terrorist sympathizers and those who threaten our country’s safety and values.”
