John's commitment to community service is exemplified by his two consecutive terms on North Cowichan council. During his tenure, he chaired the Economic Development Committee for an impressive six years, championing initiatives to promote economic growth and opportunity in the region.

Additionally, John served as a board director and corporate secretary for the Canadian Society of Immigration Consultants, a national regulatory body responsible for certifying Canadian immigration consultants both domestically and abroad.

A Business Leader with Diverse Experience

Before owning retail franchises in Victoria and Nanaimo, John's career included the role of General Manager of Logistics Operations and a position on the corporate advisory board for the Forzani Group Ltd. at the corporate head office and distribution centre in Calgary, prior to its merger with Canadian Tire.

A Political Activist and Advocate

For over 30 years, John has been an unwavering political activist for Conservative movements. His dedication led him to become the Candidate of Record for the Conservative Party of Canada in 2004 and 2011. He has volunteered in numerous elections, local riding associations, and worked in the House of Commons, advocating for small government, low taxes, a free-market economy, an effective social safety net, and access to quality education and skills training for Canadians.

A Family-Centric Individual

John is a devoted family man. He and his lifelong partner of over 40 years, Nora Koury, have raised two sons in the heart of North Cowichan. They currently reside on their acreage property in Lake Cowichan and own property in Maple Bay.
