Tuesday, June 18th, 2024 — Vancouver, BC: The Conservative Party of British Columbia released the following statement on the nominations of Elenore Sturko as the Conservative Party of BC candidate for Surrey-Cloverdale and Jody Toor as the new Conservative Party of BC candidate for Langley-Willowbrook:
The Conservative Party of BC is proud to announce Jody Toor as the candidate for Langley-Willowbrook.
On June 3, the party and Jody Toor welcomed MLA Elenore Sturko as the Conservative Party of BC candidate for Surrey-Cloverdale, a riding that Jody Toor was initially serving as the BC Conservative candidate.
"Politics is always a team sport, and given Elenore's extraordinary track record of delivering for the community of Surrey. I knew it was the right decision for me to move to be the Conservative Party of BC candidate in Langley-Willowbrook and for Elenore Surko to serve as the BC Conservative candidate of record in Surrey-Cloverdale,” expressed Jody.
“I am pleased to be now representing the great riding of Langley-Willowbrook and I am looking forward to meeting with our wonderful community members, business owners, families and neighbours over the coming weeks to talk about how we can all work together to bring back jobs, affordability, and safer streets to our community,” said Toor.
“I am also excited and eager to bring a unique perspective, given my expertise in integrated healthcare and my ongoing dedication and commitment to all British Columbians; I know that better is possible for Langley-Willowbrook and our beautiful province,” continued Jody.
Jody Toor has deep roots in Langley-Willowbrook. She was born in Langley and is the current owner of a successful integrative holistic clinic in the area that attracts clients from across British Columbia.
Jody holds a double PhD in Integrative Medicine and Humanitarian Services with the Board of Integrative Medicine, is non-prescribing, and is not registered with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia. Her academic achievements have provided her with a strong foundation in healthcare, mental health, social services, and patient advocacy.
Jody is committed to using her knowledge and expertise to address the complex challenges facing the people of British Columbia and is dedicated to the promotion of common sense policies that support the overall health and well-being of all individuals.
As a breast cancer survivor, Jody has experienced first-hand the physical, emotional, and financial toll that serious illness can take on individuals and their families. This personal journey has deepened her commitment to advocating for comprehensive healthcare policies prioritizing prevention, early detection, and holistic approaches to wellness.
With a strong background in healthcare, a personal health journey, ongoing dedication to community service, and academic achievement, Jody has had a front seat to witnessing the impact of health disparities and the importance of access to nutritious food to promote the overall well-being of all. Her experience has reinforced her belief and support for the interconnectedness of health, social justice, economic development, and community support.
In addition to her professional work, Jody is a devoted mother to her two beautiful daughters Nya & Jaya wife to Dr.Charn Toor, who owns and operates his Optometry clinic in Walnut Grove. Jody is dedicated to balancing the demands of family life along with her lifelong passion for helping others.
