About Harman Bhangu

Harman Bhangu is the MLA for Langley–Abbotsford and serves as the BC Conservative Shadow Minister for Transportation. First elected to the Legislative Assembly in 2024, he is a strong advocate for working families, economic growth, public safety, and the industries that have helped build British Columbia.

Before being elected to the Legislature, Harman helped rebuild the Conservative Party of British Columbia. Elected Vice-President at the party’s 2022 Annual General Meeting, he also served as Regional Director for Surrey. That same year, he ran as the Conservative candidate in the Surrey South by-election, helping re-establish the party’s presence and increasing its support to nearly 13 percent in just three weeks.

Raised in a hardworking family, Harman developed a deep appreciation for the people who keep the province moving. His family has deep roots in trucking, aggregate hauling, road building, construction, and forestry. His father worked in trucking, mills, and industrial jobs across British Columbia, giving Harman firsthand insight into the importance of resource industries, transportation, skilled trades, and the men and women who build the province. Those experiences continue to shape his commitment to protecting family-supporting jobs.

In the Legislature, Harman has been a vocal advocate for improving transportation infrastructure, reducing barriers to investment, supporting responsible resource development, and restoring affordability for British Columbians. He regularly speaks on issues affecting workers, small businesses, agriculture, and economic growth.

Outside the Legislature, Harman is actively involved in his community, attending local events, supporting service organizations, and meeting with residents, businesses, and community leaders across Langley and Abbotsford. He believes effective representation begins with listening and ensuring local voices are heard in Victoria.

Harman remains committed to practical solutions that create jobs, strengthen communities, and grow British Columbia’s economy.
