David Busch is a dynamic and knowledgeable candidate for the Conservative Party of BC in Saanich North and the Islands. David’s dedication to his family, his wife Dr. Jennifer Rajala and their two sons, drives his commitment to ensuring a better future for all residents. Professional Career
With a lifelong drive to expand his knowledge base and apply it to solve problems, David's multifaceted career spans healthcare, law, and education. David has been a lawyer in Saanich for over a decade and currently runs his own law firm. He has represented clients from Small Claims to the Court of Appeal in BC and Alberta and taught law for the University of Victoria. David holds two Bachelor of Science degrees, one in Biochemistry and a second in Nursing, as well as a Juris Doctor of Law. His extensive experience in healthcare includes working as a Critical Care and Pediatric Cardiology Registered Nurse and teaching Nursing at Laurentian University and the University of Alberta. Motivated by the challenges he witnessed in the healthcare system, David pursued a career in law. After completing his articles at a national law firm, he spent six years as a litigator at one of BC ‘s largest legal firms in Vancouver.
Community Involvement
As a dedicated community advocate, David's engagement and volunteerism is extensive and varied. He has been an active promoter of conservative values for over two decades and served as the federal Conservative candidate for Saanich Gulf Islands in the 2019 and 2021 elections. David has served on numerous boards and volunteered for various local causes. His involvement includes volunteering with the Legion Poppy Campaign, Rotary Club, Saanich Fair, Lobsterfest, and other local initiatives. David also volunteers his professional expertise as a lawyer, hosting pro bono legal clinics at the SHOAL Centre in Sidney, presided as a moot court judge at the University of Victoria, and provides over 100 hours annually of pro bono legal advice. Recognizing his commitment to serving and enhancing the health and safety of the community, he was presented the Lifesaving Society of Canada President’s Award for outstanding volunteer service.
His deep concern for the community's welfare is evident in his proactive approach to addressing local issues. As a recreational triathlete and outdoors enthusiast, David is often seen participating in community events, whether riding his bike or running the trails around the Saanich Peninsula.
