Board Elections

The Board of Directors passed a motion pursuant to section 20.01 of the Bylaws to expedite and simplify the Board Election process in anticipation of record turnout at the 2025 CPBC AGM:

  • Nominations for Board positions will not be taken from the floor but must be made in advance using the form available on the CPBC website; and
  • Voting for each position will occur at the same time.

Regarding the first point, this is to allow for ballots to be printed in advance of the AGM with all interested nominees listed. It also ensures the security of the voting process by eliminating the need for write-in ballots. As for concurrent voting, it is impractical for up to 1,000 people to vote for each of the four executive positions one at a time. This alone could take up to eight hours, followed by the vote for the Director-at-Large positions. Not to mention, the time needed for Constitution and Policy debates and voting. This change allows for all delegates to enter the voting station once, and record their votes for all board positions at the same time.

It is important to emphasize that the principle of nominations from the floor is being maintained: any CPBC member who has registered to attend the AGM as a delegate may nominate themselves, prior to the deadline of February 23, 2025. There are no new or stricter barriers, only a deadline.

If you are interested in running for a Board position, please find the Rules and Application form available here.

Constitution and Policy

As we approach the Conservative Party of British Columbia’s Annual General Meeting on March 1st in Nanaimo, we are excited to present the Constitutional Amendment Proposal, the Policy Declaration Proposal, and the Policy Resolutions—the culmination of months of engagement, discussion, and submissions from our grassroots membership. These documents reflect the priorities and values of our members, ensuring that both our Party’s governing structure and our policy direction are shaped by those who stand with us in our commitment to principled, common-sense leadership for British Columbia.

The Constitutional Amendment Proposal outlines key updates to the Party’s Constitution and Bylaws, reinforcing our dedication to transparency, accountability, and effective governance. Similarly, the Policy Declaration Proposal and the Policy Resolutions that we received from our membership address critical issues facing British Columbians, from economic growth and parental rights to government accountability and public safety. These proposals will be debated and voted on at the AGM, ensuring that our policies are driven by the voices of our members. We encourage all members to review these documents, and to participate in shaping the future of our movement.

The following documents are the collated and recommended sets of constitutional amendments and policy resolutions submitted by Party Members to the Party's Constitution Committee and Policy Committee prior to the deadline stipulated in the current Party Constitution:

Recommended Constitutional Amendments Proposal (Collated)

Recommended Policy Declaration Proposal (Collated)

The following document is a policy resolution submission the Party received that we were not able to reach a recommendation decision on. This resolution will also be voted on at the AGM, and the Party's Policy Committee has not voted to endorse it, but also has not voted to oppose it - the Committee's position on it is neutral:

Policy Resolution: Data Accuracy and Transparency Act (DATA)

Our AGM is an opportunity to debate and vote on policies that reflect our shared values and commitment to a better future for British Columbia. Among the key themes emerging from this year’s submissions and proposals are restoring parental rights in education, ending government overreach, protecting free speech, and ensuring fiscal responsibility.

The Policy Resolutions include removing SOGI materials from schools to put education back in the hands of parents, banning in-the-family lobbying to fight government corruption, repealing harmful NDP taxation policies (like the Carbon Tax), addressing religious persecution and strengthening private property rights.

We also received policy submissions on: combatting antisemitism, ending failed drug decriminalization policies, and implementing real transparency and privacy measures in government data collection.

This AGM is your opportunity to stand up for the conservative values we all share and help decide the policies that will guide our Party moving forward.

AGM schedule

After consulting with the event organizers, the venue and most importantly the members, we have decided to move forward with a single day AGM. All official business will take place on Saturday, March 1st, while an informal breakfast will follow on Sunday, March 2nd. This breakfast will serve as a personal meet and greet with the leader and MLAs.

Subject to minor change, an updated schedule of events can be found on the respective ticketing pages.
